Haverford Township is excited to announce that the updated draft of its Comprehensive Plan, “HAVERFORD 2035”, is now ready for your review! This plan is the result of years of collaboration and feedback from our community, and we want to ensure that your voice continues to shape the future of our Township.

The journey to “HAVERFORD 2035” began in 2019 with the establishment of our Steering Committee and a strong focus on community engagement. Over the past few years, residents have shared their thoughts and ideas through virtual meetings, surveys, in-person workshops, and public meetings with both the Planning Commission and the Board of Commissioners. We’ve listened carefully to your input, and this draft reflects our understanding of your vision for our Township.

In early 2023, the Board of Commissioners referred the latest draft of the Comprehensive Plan to an Ad Hoc Steering Committee for further refinement. Since then, Township staff were busy managing several key projects, including the Library Renovation & Expansion, the Darby Creek Trail Extension, and improvements to the Pennsy Trail, among many others.
But we never forgot about the Comprehensive Plan. In that regard, we hired a new Director of Community Development, who has been leading the efforts to move the Comprehensive Plan forward.

As required by law, the proposed plan has been submitted to the Delaware County Planning Department, neighboring municipalities, and the Haverford Township School District for their review.
Now, it's your turn to weigh in!
The public comment period will be open for at least 45 days, giving you the opportunity to share your thoughts on the plan. You can submit your written comments to info@havtwp.com until February 2, 2025.

At the end of the 45-day comment period, the Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to review the proposed plan. This hearing will take place at 6:15 PM on Monday, February 3, 2025, in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the Haverford Township Building, 1014 Darby Road, Havertown, PA.
Following the public hearing, the Board will consider all comments and recommendations before adopting the plan. If substantial revisions are made to the plan after the hearing, another public hearing will be scheduled before the plan is officially adopted.
